Drop-In Photography
Bring your camera and your questions! For only $20 you can join professional photographer Mike Byrne for a two-hour photography session and receive expert advice on any photography issues you need help with. Even try out some professional cameras and lenses! Each drop-in session will have its own theme and location but no specific agenda. Come and go as you please. Sessions are limited to 8 participants — 4 spots can be reserved (click “Buy Now” on this page), the others will be available on a first come, first served basis.
Our first May session will begin at 9:00 am Friday, May 13, at Playfair Park, (1198 Rock St, Saanich). The theme will be “Macro Photography” and we’ll spend our time shooting flowers, bugs, and anything else suitable for a macro lens. I’ll have with me my 100mm f/2.8 macro lens and a macro twin lite flash.
Our second May session will begin at 8:30 am Wednesday, May 25, at the Swan Lake Nature Sanctuary (meet in the parking lot nearest the Nature House. The theme will be “Bird Photography” and we’ll spend our time photographing the sparrows, blackbirds, woodpeckers, and much more. I’ll have with me my 600m f/4 lens for shared use.
June drop-in sessions will be announced by May 26.
